Vietnam Palace in Philadelphia: A long overdue revisit

When I lived in Philadelphia, one of my favorite haunts in the Chinatown area was always Vietnam Palace. I had many great dinners with friends there; we loved the reasonable prices, the vegetarian-friendly options, and the fact that we never were rushed and could feast over several hours while enjoying good company and conversation. My sweetie and I also had our first date there, over 8 years ago, as it turned out we both were fans of the restaurant. So, it certainly has a lot of great personal connections and memories to me.

Quick Bite: Pho Barclay in Cherry Hill, New Jersey

I’ve finally begun exploring and shopping at the Asian supermarkets in the Cherry Hill area, which is great as I can stock up on noodles, sauces, and vegetables that I can’t get normally like mustard greens, daikon, Vietnamese herbs and other assorted good stuff. While shopping at Asian Food Market, I noticed Pho Barclay in the same shopping plaza. I was hungry and it was lunchtime, so why not? I’ve been missing my Vietnamese food fix since moving out of Philadelphia, where I was a huge fan of Vietnam Palace – especially their insanely good Vermicelli Noodle plates.
